Senior Pre-Health Peer Advisor: Bella Livingston

BellaI am a senior majoring in human biology and I am on the pre-medical track. I am also in the Honors College here at MSU. I am involved with many extracurricular activities both on and off campus, all involving volunteering and clinical experience. I am currently in a certified nursing assistant role at a local retirement home in Brighton, Michigan where I have gained essential experience in patient care while also spending time with Envision Medical Group where I have exercised expertise with electronic medical systems and behind-the-scenes medical care.

Additionally, I am an active member of MSU’s Pre-Medical Association and spend my summers volunteering and shadowing at South Lyon Family Physicians where I have gained valuable documentation knowledge. Please do not hesitate to schedule a meeting with me as I would absolutely love to answer any questions you may have or share my experiences and methods for finding more pre-health experience. I look forward to meeting with you!

Senior Pre-Health Peer Advisor: Aditi Sharma

IAditi’m a senior majoring in human biology and anthropology. As a transfer student from Lansing Community College, I’ve loved my time here at MSU. My passion for building relationships and utilizing science to help others has drawn me to the medical field. I’ve been involved at the YMCA, working for their Anti-Hunger and Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring programs. I thoroughly enjoy being out in the community to combat health issues on an interpersonal level.

In addition, I spend my free time mentoring/tutoring middle school students, volunteering at the local hospital and food bank, and assisting at the Physiology 310 Learning Lab. As a lifelong resident of the area, I know all the best spots in town for coffee, restaurants, or fun spots to visit. I’m looking forward to meeting with you and being a part of your journey at MSU!

Pre-Health Peer Advisor: Megan DeKuiper

I am a senior pursuing a degree in Biomedical Laboratory Science, with a concentration in Hematology and Hemostasis. I am also a member of the Honors College and on the pre-medical track. During my time at MSU, I have been an active member of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) and am currently the Outreach Coordinator. Outside of my academic career, I am a Certified Nursing Assistant currently working as a Medication Technician while also volunteering at my local hospital. Personally, I enjoy traveling, camping, Lake Michigan sunsets, and watching MSU sports.

The pre-health track has a lot of puzzle pieces that can get overwhelming, whether that be finding good clinical experiences, choosing the right classes, or becoming involved in extracurriculars. While at MSU, I’ve had many of the same questions as you and gained valuable experience that I would enjoy sharing. Please feel free to set up a meeting with me as I am always happy to help. I look forward to talking with you!

Pre-Health Peer Advisor: Sarah St. Germain

SarahAs a junior majoring in human biology with a minor in business, and on the pre-medical track, I am determined to make the most of my time at MSU. My schedule is filled with engaging extracurricular activities that allow me to gain valuable clinical experience, volunteer, and shadow top-notch medical professionals. Through these experiences, I have gained a wealth of knowledge about the various specialties within the medical field, and what it truly takes to become a doctor.

Apart from my academic pursuits, I am an active volunteer for both the Crisis Text Line and Red Cross. Giving back to my community is incredibly important to me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of those around me. Of course, I also make sure to take time for myself and indulge in my interests. I absolutely love traveling, spending time on the lake, attending concerts, and hanging out with friends.

If you're interested in learning more about what MSU has to offer, or simply want to chat about your own journey, I would be happy to connect. I look forward to the opportunity to share my experiences and help you along the way!
